I think I'm starting to get used to school. Don't get me wrong, the workload is still really really crazy and I still have to spend my weekends occupied with readings just to finish them. Despite that, I think the combination of the awesome people in law and the fact that I might have accustomed myself to the system helps a lot!

Friday afternoon/evening was really fun. Firstly me and a few other people from law went for the law soc talks (I'm in logistics for Judgement Day!). It was hilarious to see how a few students who were actually just in the room to slack/meet up with friends ended up having to participate in the events without any prior intention to. Haha. I finally got my opportunity to cam-whore in the seminar room!

Went for Funbowl after that at SAFRA Yishun. T'was really hilarious. The games that were organised was rather fun. Our group was really enthu about it and we even came in the law camp t-shirts (with the exception of Paul who came in the butt ugly SMU School of Law polo). Surprisingly, we won quite alot of the prizes. Haha.

see for yourself the pervasiveness of legal figures in the lives of law students. :(

Went to watch the Black's Rugby event at SAS. It was my first time watching rugby. It was rather entertaining but I think late night events are just not for me. My brain crawls to a slow past midnight. I call it the midnight syndrome.

I'm going for the nike human challenge run later in the afternoon but my lower back is hurting again after the bowling session and the late night rugby event. (I didn't even play! I was a spectator!)

Went for AHM in the morning just now. I think my race prep was not that good so I had a few problems in the morning. I didn't have time to do a proper warm up so I did a bit of cold stretching before heading to the start line. It was really nice to see a few people from Charlie there. Had a nice short chat before I started the race. I think I didn't have such a good start. It was probably due to the lack of training prior to the race. I was struggling a little and I only managed to pick up at about the 10km mark. I swear that energy gels really do work!

Ok anyway long story short, the run was quite ok but the wet ground with the puddles was not good. I ran with wet feet for more than half the journey. Last 4km was really a struggle cause my leg muscles were damn tight! Returned my chip, collected my medal and went to SMU to bathe.

A momento of my completion of the 21km.

I was damn happy that I finished my criminal law readings until I saw the readings for LSLMA. Omg. I'm going to mug in school tomorrow. You can find my dead body over my law books and readings :(

The first week of school is finally over!! :)

Oh man. Law school has been much tougher than I have expected. The readings and preparation needed before lessons are crazy and seminars are mentally taxing. Thank god for the people around me though who really help in keeping me sane. Preparations for law tea have been hit with several problems and I hope that it will be worked out soon. I can't wait for law tea to be over so that I can focus exclusively on my studies.

I don't like how I don't have any pics of class so far. I shall thus make a mental note to take more pictures in class or maybe even during lessons. :)

Guess what Mr. Postman sent me today?

I'm a happy person.

School hasn't even officially started yet and I have readings and notes to go through. Buying law texts are killing me financially but I decided to lower my burden by buying 2nd hand. I estimate that this will save me about $90 just for 4 books. Theres still casebooks and stuff to buy but I think I'll just leave that for another day.

Oh for those who don't know, I've officially dropped my 2nd degree of social science. Initially, I was planning to just go through with it and make a review of my choices only in the 2nd term. All that changed though when SMU decided to preassign me calculus. The very next day, I called them to ask them about dropping my 2nd degree. Sorry, but calculus and me are mortal enemies. I don't really regret anything thus far cause I did my homework and theres just too much stuff for me to do if I were to pursue the double degree. I'd rather focus on law and do well in it.

School has been really really really great so far. Made lots of friends there. The culture is totally different there though. I would say that the majority of people are from RJC and ACJC. I had a slight culture shock when I realised that I was the only one speaking in broken English, accompanied by my 'walau eh!'s and 'lah's. Haha. Thats a product of me being in neighbourhood schools all my life. Looks like I have to brush up on my usage of the English language.

I think even my dreams have started becoming more complicated due to law school. I dreamt that I was the joker. (No doubt thanks to Hui Min) No it wasn't a good dream. It was more like a nightmare. I dreamt of societal rejection. The public and the judiciary were not interested in the truth, they were only interested in vengence. It was quite bad and I woke up all sweaty despite being in a freezing air-conditioned room. Haha. Thats my first non-phantasmagoric nightmare.

So far the events for law tea are going rather smoothly. Lots of people have been helping out to come out with performances and I think we might even exceed the allocated time. The law band performance and the games segment organised by some of the pageant people looks really promising so I'm really looking forward to reviewing the rest of them.

Going for floorball clinic on Tuesday with Mun. Really looking forward to it.

School starts in about 2 weeks and I just received my timetable yesterday. I have classes on all the weekdays and most of it is in the afternoon with the exception of Friday. I'm quite ok with it cause I like my lessons spread out. Plus school is like 15 mins away from my house so traveling is hardly a problem.

While school has not officially started yet, I've been rather busy planning the events for the law tea. I think I should delegate more roles to others but maybe its just in my nature to be stubborn and try to do everything myself. Hahaha. Whatever it is, I think I should start distributing roles to people so that in the end, the preparations will turn out better.

Going for lunch with the other law pageant people tomorrow to plan more stuff for the tea and going for a jamming session after that. Hope that turns out well.

Oh I was so caught up with the law tea that I forgot to announce something important.

I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST YESTERDAY!! WOHOOO!!!
